BATIK FOR A DAY
Ladies and gentlemen...
Boys and girls...
Teens and older...
Teacher and student...
Welcome back to my blog.... Today... I'll be blogging about BATIK !!!
A little bit of history on batik....
Batik is a fabric dyeing method using wax to create patterns and designs.
This method makes use of a resist technique; applying areas of cloth with wax (a dye-resistant substance) to prevent them from absorbing colors when the cloth is dipped into dye.
Not only as a dye-resistant substance, the wax applied is also used to control colors from spreading out from a particular area to create motif when the dye is painted.

A method thought to be over a thousand years old, today, batik has taken on a much wider meaning. It can be referred to:
cloth block printed with wax or
cloth decorated with hand-drawn designs.
cloth decorated with traditional batik designs without the use of the resist method

The use of batik has also extended from clothing to everything from home furnishings and table cloths to handicrafts.
In Malaysia, batik has become a national identity and flourish in the arena of fashion where batik attire is worn for both formal and informal occasions.
Learnt much from it ??? I know I don't ==
BUT it's really fun and exciting when you do it...
I found out a new medium to present my idea to the world....
So nuf said.... Let's get started...
We were enjoying this... And I really mean it...
All my classmates are really excited bout this... They really enjoyed it... Mixing colors, waxing, sketching on the cloth... I'm telling you... It's PURE ENJOYMENT for them....
Anyway... We were working in groups...
My team happens to be interested in doing LORAX as batik... For I'm like so COOL !!! Something so modern and animation-ish turning into antique and old art thing... SO, we just go with it... And the results... TO ME, I think is FABULOUS !!!
However one of my teammates was disappointed with it.... BUT with my AWESOME comforting words... She was OK with it then ^^... How AWESOME am I ??? xD
anyway.... If you guys ever wonder how does the inside of a batik factory looks like... Well here it is...
ENJOY ;)
